Tracking Vaccine Donations in 2021

Vaccinating upwards of 70 percent of the populations of the United States and the European Union against COVID-19 should be possible by the end of 2021, but achieving the same globally will take much longer. Billions of doses are needed to vaccinate the world, though by August 2021, the WHO’s COVAX mechanism reported just over 177 million donated vaccines. The United States' push to donate 200 million doses by the end of the year will help, as will the EU’s pledge to donate 100 million doses on top of vaccine export approvals totaling over 500 million doses this year. This month’s B|Visual infographic looks at where donated vaccines have come from and where they’ve gone.
